Olisa Metuh, spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, is now at court one of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court, Abuja, where debate on his bail application will take place. Metuh arrived at the court at 10:45am handcuffed and escorted by officers of the Nigeria Prison Service, but the metal restraint was removed just before he entered the court.
The PDP spokesman is among a host of other personalities facing criminal charges for alleged complicity in the $2.1bn arms purchase affair. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge of money laundering, and has alleged that the government is trying to break him for his critical stance on the Buhari administration.
